Job Description

The Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority is responsible for the management and conservation of the country’s wildlife and protected areas.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Chaplain to provide spiritual and emotional support to our staff.

The Chaplain will report to the Chaplain General and will be responsible for providing chaplaincy and counseling services to the staff of the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority.

The successful candidate will provide compassionate and caring support during and following significant life events and incidents.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides chaplaincy and counseling services to staff
  • Provides compassionate and caring support during and following significant life events and incidents (bereavement, grief and loss, graduations ceremonies)
  • Advises chains of commands regarding the spiritual/religious social issue, as well as spiritual and moral issues pertaining to Authority Staff
  • Assists in providing an active, personal, and supportive presence in liaison with other faith traditions
  • Ensures that all requests for chaplaincy and counseling services are responded to in a timely manner
  • Refers Authority staff members and their families to other helping professionals, such as social workers, psychologists, or medical personnel as required
  • Crafts budgets and allocates resources for the department

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma in Pastoral Studies, Counseling, Theology, or related field
  • A relevant degree will be an added advantage
  • At least one-year experience in a related field
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office Packages
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Good analytical skills
