Job Description

Our client, a leading company in the FMCG industry, is seeking a Business Development Manager to join their team. With a strong presence in Zimbabwe, the company is dedicated to delivering high-quality products in the fast-moving consumer goods sector. Our client is looking for a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager with expertise in sales and marketing, specifically in the FMCG industry. As the Business Development Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving business growth and expanding the company’s market share.

The ideal candidate should have an MBA with a specialization in Sales & Marketing, along with a minimum of 10 years of experience in business development and sales within the FMCG (Food) industry. Zimbabwe working exposure is mandatory. Remuneration, allowances, and other incentives will be provided based on experience and qualifications.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic business development plans to expand market presence and achieve sales targets.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the FMCG industry, particularly in the General Trade segment.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including distributors, retailers, and trade partners.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, customer preferences, and competitive strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Lead negotiations and contract discussions with potential clients and partners.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations and proposals to prospective clients.
  • Provide timely and accurate sales forecasts, reports, and insights to management.
  • Stay updated on industry developments, regulations, and best practices.
  • Mentor and guide sales teams to achieve individual and collective targets.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • MBA degree with a specialization in Sales & Marketing.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development and sales within the FMCG (Food) industry.
  • Strong knowledge of the General Trade segment and the Zimbabwean market.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to gather and interpret market data.
  • Leadership abilities and the capacity to motivate and guide sales teams.
