Job Description

Green Fuel is a leading renewable energy company based in Chipinge, Zimbabwe. With a focus on environmental sustainability, Green Fuel specializes in producing environmentally friendly and sustainable renewable vehicle fuel and electricity.

The company’s flagship project, the Green Fuel Ethanol Project, has been awarded National Project Status by the Government of Zimbabwe, highlighting its significant contributions to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving air quality. Green Fuel operates estates in Chipinge, including the Chisumbanje Estate spanning 40,000 hectares and the Middle Sabi Estate covering 10,000 hectares.

Green Fuel is seeking five motivated and qualified individuals to join their Fields Department as Block Foremen. As a Block Foreman, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating various activities related to block irrigation and agriculture. Reporting to the Section Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring efficient block irrigation cycles, coordinating weed control programs, supervising fertilizer application, and maintaining accurate reports.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that block irrigation cycle activities are carried out according to the schedule.
  • Order the required amount of water on a weekly basis.
  • Coordinate the daily weed control program within the blocks.
  • Supervise the application of fertilizers to optimize plant growth and health.
  • Oversee the identification and removal of smut in the blocks.
  • Compile daily reports on the area irrigated to track progress.
  • Maintain accurate records of labour attendance on a daily basis.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and promote a culture of safety within the department.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 ‘O’ level passes, including English and Mathematics.
  • Diploma or certificate in Agriculture.
  • Previous experience in a related field is an added advantage.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
