Job Description
Runsgate Mining is a thriving platinum mining company that operates in Zvishavane, Zimbabwe. The mining company is seeking a highly skilled Auto Electrician to join their team and help maintain their fleet of heavy mining equipment.
The Auto Electrician will be responsible for maintaining and repairing the electrical systems of our heavy mining equipment, including trucks, excavators, and loaders.
The successful candidate will work closely with the maintenance team to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our equipment. You should be able to read schematics and have experience working on mining equipment such as LHDs, Bolter and Face Rig.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults in mining equipment, including LHDs and Rigs
- Apply knowledge of automotive electronics, engines, and chassis to perform repairs
- Install components, such as alternators, starter motors, and alternators
- Install electrical components, such as horns, lights, and turn signals
- Troubleshoot electrical systems on equipment to identify faults
- Perform maintenance on batteries and charging systems
- Inspect and test electrical connections and components
- Replace and install electrical connectors, relays, fuses, and circuit breakers
- Install and wire gauges, gauges, and other electrical components
- Install, replace, and repair wiring and circuits
- Insulate and wire electrical panels
- Connect electrical components, such as switches, starter solenoids, and starter solenoids
- Perform engine and driveline repairs
- Insulate and wire engine compartment
Qualifications and Experience:
- Graduate of vocational school
- Experienced auto mechanic/electrician
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
