Securico Security Services is looking for a skilled and experienced Assistant Accountant to join our dynamic team. As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a crucial role in the financial management of the company.

You will be responsible for assisting in the production of financial statements, managing the general ledger, and ensuring the integrity of financial information. This position offers a competitive remuneration package, including allowances and other incentives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the production of accurate and timely financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, budgets, cash flows, monthly and annual management accounts, variance analysis, and commentaries.
  • Work closely with the finance team to ensure the integrity of financial data and maintain accurate records in the general ledger.
  • Support credit control activities, including monitoring and managing outstanding invoices, following up on payments, and resolving any issues or discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and provide necessary support for decision-making processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Assist in the coordination of the annual budgeting process and monitor budget performance throughout the year.
  • Participate in audits and ensure compliance with audit requirements, including the preparation of audit schedules and supporting documentation.
  • Stay updated with relevant accounting standards and industry best practices to ensure the application of appropriate accounting principles.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Higher National Diploma or Degree in Accounting.
  • A minimum of five years’ post-graduate experience in financial accounting and reporting, with proven expertise in producing financial statements.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
