Job Description

FBC Reinsurance, under the Life and Health Department, is seeking a highly computer literate and technologically savvy young graduate to join their Graduate Trainee Programme 2024 in Actuarial Management. This comprehensive training and development program is designed to nurture talent and prepare individuals for future substantive positions within the company.

The training program will span approximately 24 months, during which the trainee will gain in-depth knowledge in various areas of actuarial management. Exceptional performance and competence will be expected for potential deployment into a substantive position at the end of the program. Remuneration and other incentives will be disclosed to shortlisted candidates.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate actively in the Actuarial Management Graduate Trainee Programme.
  • Learn and apply actuarial principles, methods, and techniques.
  • Assist in data collection, analysis, and interpretation to support actuarial calculations and modeling.
  • Collaborate with senior team members to perform actuarial calculations, including pricing, reserving, and risk assessments.
  • Support the development and maintenance of actuarial models and databases.
  • Conduct research and analysis to stay updated on industry trends and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports, presentations, and documentation related to actuarial findings and recommendations.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support actuarial projects and initiatives.
  • Adhere to ethical standards, confidentiality, and data security protocols.
  • Continuously enhance actuarial knowledge and skills through ongoing learning and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Age 25 or younger.
  • Minimum upper second-class degree (2.1) pass in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Financial Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Strong computer literacy skills.
  • Self-driven, motivated, and able to demonstrate integrity.
  • Innovative and creative mindset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and display confidence.
