Allied Timbers Zimbabwe (Private) Limited is looking for a detail-oriented and competent Accounts Clerk to join our dynamic team. As an Accounts Clerk, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely data capturing of receipts, invoices, and expenses.

You will play a crucial role in reconciling bank statements, maintaining cash accounts, and supporting the overall financial operations of the company. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial success of our organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Capture and record receipts, invoices, and expenses on a monthly basis.
  • Conduct monthly bank reconciliations, filing and submitting them for review by the Assistant Accountant and Financial Accountant.
  • Reconcile cash accounts daily against cash received and banked across all branches.
  • Maintain systematic filing of documents with clear trails for retrieval.
  • Perform debtors’ reconciliations and age analysis for both Allied Timbers Zimbabwe (Pvt) Ltd and Allied Timber Saligna.
  • Conduct thorough reconciliations on each balance sheet item before month-end closure.
  • Perform creditors’ reconciliations and ensure no overpayments are made.
  • Produce accurate monthly aged analysis reports with supporting documents.
  • Compile and submit all ZIMRA returns, including VAT and Withholding Tax, by the statutory deadline.
  • Keep the external audit file up-to-date.
  • Perform reconciliations on any inter-company transactions and maintain a file with all necessary documentation.
  • Implement departmental resolutions in consultation with the Supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma in Accounting or equivalent.
  • Degree in Accounting or Finance, studying towards a professional qualification such as ACCA or CIMA will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience.
  • Exposure to a manufacturing environment and knowledge of treasury functions will be advantageous.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Excellent ICT skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical abilities.
