Job Description

As a trusted name in the industry, we pride ourselves on providing exceptional products and services to our valued customers. Croco Motors is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Clerk to join our team.

As an integral part of our finance department, the Accounts Clerk will be responsible for various accounting tasks, including management accounts, statutory returns, and utilizing accounting software and tools. The successful candidate will contribute to the smooth operation of our financial processes and ensure accurate and timely reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including journals, ledgers, and accounts payable/receivable.
  • Assist in the preparation of management accounts, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and internal policies.
  • Process and reconcile financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of statutory returns, such as VAT, QPDs, withholding tax, and PAYE.
  • Utilize accounting software, including Pastel Accounting Package, to record and analyze financial data.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Monitor and reconcile bank statements, identifying any discrepancies or issues.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Maintain proper filing systems and documentation for financial records.
  • Support the finance team in ad-hoc tasks and projects as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree/HND in Accounting or equivalent qualification.
  • Part C CIS or Stage 2 CIMA, ACCA, or similar professional qualification.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the accounting field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in preparing management accounts.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in handling statutory returns, such as VAT, QPDs, and withholding tax & PAYE.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software, particularly Pastel Accounting Package.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
