The Avenues Clinic is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Accounting Officer to join our dynamic team. As an Accounting Officer, you will play a crucial role in the financial management of the clinic, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of management accounts, ledger reconciliations, and compliance with statutory requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform initial analysis of trial balance monthly movements.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly finance reports.
  • Reconcile all ledger accounts and review reconciliations on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare specific journals for posting, maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Ensure systematic and sequential filing of financial documents.
  • Maintain the Asset Register, accurately accounting for additions and disposals.
  • Liaise with bank relationship managers, addressing and resolving bank-related queries.
  • Prepare tax computations and ensure timely submission of ZIMRA and other statutory returns.
  • Validate tax clearance certificates before processing payments.
  • Reconcile monthly statutory obligations, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provide support during audits and tax preparation.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree in Accounting is required.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge.
  • Studying towards CA/ACCA/CIMA is an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in using the Pastel Accounting system is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Package (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
