Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Accounting Bookkeeper to start immediately and maintain our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts and payments.

The incumbent’s responsibilities shall include creating and analysing financial reports and ensuring legal requirements compliance, processing accounts payable and receivable and managing invoices and tax payments, keeping financial records updated, preparing reports and reconciling bank statements.

You will also run accounting software programs (e.g. QuickBooks and SAGE) to process business transactions like accounts payable and receivable, disbursements, expense vouchers and receipts. A successful accounting bookkeeper should be familiar with all accounting procedures and have a flair for numbers.

Ultimately, the Accounting Bookkeeper’s responsibilities are to accurately record all day-to-day financial transactions of our company.


  • Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
  • Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, suppliers ledger, customer ledger and general ledger.
  • Bring the books to the trial balance stage.
  • Process Payments and manage Bank Statements.
  • Complete tax forms, statutory returns, VAT Filing and other Zimra returns.
  • Enter data, maintain records and create reports and financial statements.
  • Process accounts receivable/payable and handle payroll in a timely manner.

Requirements and skills

  • Over 2 years of Accounting and QuickBooks knowledge (A must).
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.
  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
  • Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
  • Customer service orientation and negotiation skills.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration.
