Zimbabwe Ezekiel Guti University (ZEGU) is seeking a diligent and qualified individual to join their team as an Accounting Assistant. As an Accounting Assistant at ZEGU, you will play a crucial role in financial administration and contribute to the smooth functioning of the university. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for all accounts.
  • Handle banking activities and follow up on bank documentation sent for processing.
  • Ensure timely reimbursements according to pre-arranged timelines.
  • Receive and process invoices, expense forms, and payment requests.
  • Process payments, receipts, and journals in SAGE accounting software.
  • Prepare monthly invoices, reimbursement documentation, and required trackers within set timelines.
  • Charge student accounts in compliance with the fees ordinance.
  • Verify charges on students’ account ledgers after charging.
  • Prepare adjustments to students’ ledgers as per regulations.
  • Reconcile the student debtor control account.
  • Clear students before registration and results collection.
  • Capture staff fees exemptions.
  • Allocate sponsorship funds to student ledgers.
  • Reconcile accounts for year-end procedures.
  • Manage student debtors.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Recently qualified professional.
  • Minimum qualification: HND/Accounting or Finance Degree/Part C CIS/Part B ACCA/CIMA.
  • At least 1 year of working experience in accounting and financial administration.
  • Proficiency in computer use and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Experience in accounting software, preferably Pastel Evolution.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Excellent administrative skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
